This position is located in the United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM), Voice of America, Eurasia Division, Ukrainian Service. The incumbent serves as the first-level supervisor over the Ukrainian Service, whose purpose is to provide global and local news on a vast range of topics to the country of Ukraine.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Oversees creation and management of the production process and all writing and copy editing of scripts in a style suitable for broadcast on all digital platforms.
Coordinates the work of writers, reporters, and producers involved in the preparation and production of digital content, including ensuring that website headlines and teasers are clear and interesting and materials prepared for TV rewritten into s style suitable for digital publication; check content for substance, accuracy and balance, as well as clear style.
Plans and formulates short-term and long-term production and publishing of VOA branded content across digital platforms with the Service and Division management, and subordinate team members to assure that digital content, formats and individual segments exemplify the highest professional digital journalism standards.
Works with executive producer, producers and reporters and other staff to create appealing line-ups, prepare news-worthy reports, and book credible guests.
Find ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed.
Evaluates work performance of subordinates; prepares formal performance appraisals through agency performance management program.

Qualifications
Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GG-13 which is directly related to this line of work AND must be fluent to write, report, interview, announce broadcasts in English and Ukrainian languages. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes ALL of the following:
Managing activities of a professional staff supporting print, digital; and social media, establishing priorities, and evaluating the work performance of subordinates;
Assessing, evaluating, or monitoring programs to ensure production of content for audiences in Ukrainian;
Leading/managing a diverse staff/team of content producers and journalists in the U.S. and abroad producing multimedia content;
Knowledge of Ukraine and the relationship with neighboring regions.
