Duties

Help

As a Quality Control Analyst (REAC), you will:

  • Reviews and analyzes inspection data generated on federally subsidized properties for physical inspection performance in areas such as: General Maintenance, Hazardous Building Materials, Architectural Barrier Act, regulations 24 CFR 40 41, Section 504, 24 CFR 8, and the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards.
  • Assesses the quality of physical housing inspections of federally subsidized properties by performing on site physical inspections of select properties to verify the quality of those completed inspections and ensure compliance of HUD and Federal requirements.
  • Collaborates with the supervisor and PASS QA staff while conducting quality assurance duties and resolving key issues.
  • Takes the lead in researching, analyzing and resolving housing inspection compliance issues and violations.
  • Serve as a Government Technical Monitor (GTM) for contracts related to housing physical inspections as necessary.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
  • Leading a team of employees. ; AND
  • Conducting housing physical inspections that include environmental inspections.; AND
  • Developing and delivering environmental assessments that are focused on, but not limited to, lead, radon, mold, and energy.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.

Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

This is a remote position, selectee will be required to work 100% of the time in a non-HUD owned space. The employee's workspace must be suitable for conducting business and as such, remote employees are expected to provide a secure, distraction-free, home-based worksite with reliable high speed internet connectivity. Selectees will be required to self-certify that their remote workplace meets all safety, privacy, and internet speed requirement.

This position requires that the incumbent work in a mobile environment; therefore, traveling up to 100 percent of every workweek. Travel may be required to locations regionally or throughout the US and US territories. The position requires extensive walking, carrying of light items, climbing stairs, standing or driving an automobile, while traveling to various properties throughout the contiguous United States. Special physical demands are also required to inspect roofs, boilers, etc. when appropriate. The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking over rough, uneven, rocky surfaces such as abandoned roof tops; recurring bending, crouching, stooping or similar activities. The work may require specific but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
