Duties

Help

As a Senior Advisor to the Comptroller, you will:

  • Lead initiatives to develop and implement broad agency priorities and initiatives for OCC supervision policies, programs, practices and operations.
  • Develop short- and long-term plans to meet these initiatives and identify appropriate resources.
  • Collaborate with OCC Senior Deputy Comptrollers, Deputy Comptrollers, and/or their representatives to coordinate and integrate major efforts and effectively carry out the objectives and goals.
  • Represent the Comptroller in developing and implementing initiatives that refocus or shift OCC supervisory philosophies and priorities, as appropriate for banking industry innovations.
  • Represent the Comptroller on key OCC committees, interagency groups, and at meetings with government agencies, industry groups and banking organizations.
  • Conduct authoritative review of significant proposed supervisory and operational policy documents, correspondence, periodic and special reports, and other materials and prepares and issues correspondence of a high level, technical nature, under authority delegated by the Comptroller.

  • File an Executive Branch Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 450) and an OCC Financial Disclosure Form.
  • File an OCC Financial Disclosure Form.
  • Complete a financial disclosure review and resolve any ethics issues.

  • Obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-VI band level or GS-14 Grade Level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:

  • Experience identifying and analyzing risks to a financial institution or the Federal banking system; and,
  • Experience evaluating supervision or audit activities for conformance to organizational policies and procedures; and,
  • Experience serving as a advisor to a financial sector principal.

The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Additional information

  • Salary range includes 23.31% geographic differential pay.
  • Total pay cannot exceed applicable pay cap, which is $284,900 for 2022.
  • This position is a Step 2 level position within the NB-VII pay band. Step 2 level positions are distinguished by additional job complexity, responsibility, and advanced skill levels required by the work.
  • If you are a current OCC employee who previously received a waiver determination permitting you to retain bank securities due to extenuating circumstances, please note that this determination may be rescinded if the nature of your duties changes. We strongly suggest that you discuss the potential implications of any change in duties on a prior securities determination with your ethics official.
