IT Specialists (INFOSEC) are a mission critical occupation for HRSA. These positions are responsible for the analysis of system and/or security requirements, the development and implementation of mission critical applications for the agency's Information Technology operations.
As a Supervisory IT Specialist, you will serve as the Network Engineering Branch Chief and assist the Division Director, Chief Information Officer (CIO), and other supervisors in OIT in planning the information technology management activities in HRSA.
Your major duties and responsibilities will include:
Supervising and managing the Network Engineering Branch which is comprised of a staff of information technology employees and contractors who collectively provide state of the art technology; ensures prompt and competent IT service and support; maintains and upgrades computer technology systems of the Agency; and promotes excellence in communication through technology
Monitoring the infrastructure to ensure security standards are continually being met and develop a Plan of Actions and Milestone (POA&Ms) to address and security related problems.
Leading in the development of security related standard operating procedures, processes and policies towards secure Network infrastructure operations.
Leading in the development of corporate or agency IT security practices, guidelines and recommend policies for security for services under their purview.
