Help

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for evaluations, inspections, and reviews of DOJ programs. As a Supervisory Program Analyst (Senior Inspector), you will perform the following duties:

  • Managing all aspects of multiple reviews or projects, including planning, design, data collection and analysis, message development, final product writing, and resolution of recommendations.
  • Providing effective supervision of multiple teams including: (1) proactively identifying and resolving problems impacting project goals; (2) establishing priorities and adjusting schedules to accommodate changes in requirements, resources, or priorities; (3) establishing and meeting appropriate milestones to accomplish project objectives; and (4) monitoring and enhancing processes and procedures to address evolving requirements, efficiencies, changes, and/or constraints.
  • Producing and/or presenting information and findings in a variety of formats (verbally and written) such as comprehensive and technical reports, press releases, testimony, working papers, status reports, and other media.
  • Evaluating internal and external policy, and applying qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to assess programs and processes.
  • Leading by example through initiative, creativity, and flexibility in conducting work; and through anticipating and dealing effectively with obstacles.
  • Providing guidance to teams on the strategic direction of E&I and the OIG.
  • Developing highly productive relationships with internal and external parties, fostering teamwork, collaboration, and coordination to accomplish goals and effectively utilize resources.
  • Managing and developing employees, including: assigning appropriate workloads; identifying training needs; assessing employee performance; and addressing conduct and performance issues.
  • Demonstrating professional behavior in all interactions with others in a manner that reflects the organizational values of the OIG.
  • Recognizing patterns and trends in OIG and Division findings to connect personnel with relevant subject matter expertise in support of Division work products.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the defined duties that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform this job.

Examples of specialized experience include: serving in a leading role for one or more concurrent reviews; conducting extensive research and preparing detailed analyses and written documents; evaluating internal and external policy; evaluating agency programs for efficiency and effectiveness; recommending organizational or process changes and monitoring implementation of those recommendations; and reviewing and providing feedback on the work assignments of others.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade level (or equivalent).
