Duties

Help

As a/an Senior SF Housing Spec (QAD), you will:

  • Acts as HUD expert and advisor on the lender origination and servicing practices required for compliance with Title I and Title II, Fair Housing and RESPA. Employs judgment and initiative in the selection and interpretation of statutory, regulatory, handbook and other requirements that are applicable to the risk management function. Exercise judgment in interpreting and applying guidelines in responding to and solving problems and dealing with controversial issues.
  • Performs reviews and analyzes reports from on site reviews of Title I and Title II lenders to determine compliance with loan origination and servicing procedures and requirements, Fair Housing and RESPA. Analyzes information obtained from the onsite review or compliance review and independently may contact HUD offices, the industry sources, local government offices and the general public, in obtaining further information to support, allegations of violations of FHA requirements, contained in the review report.
  • Investigates and gathers evidence for use by either branch, Division and/or HUD Headquarters in administrative proceedings, civil cases and criminal referrals. Seeks out individuals to conduct interviews. Participates as a government witness in administrative, civil or criminal cases, or cases brought by other Federal and State agency.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Performing compliance monitoring through the evaluation of risk assessment of Federal Housing Administration Single-Family mortgage loans; AND
- As a member of a team or panel, providing recommendations on the loan origination or servicing practices required for compliance with Title I and Title II, Fair Housing and RESPA (Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act); AND
- Applying Federal Housing Administration compliance requirements on items, such as; credit reports, asset documents and appraisals; AND
- Recommending policy changes regarding risk for lending policies.

Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
