Summary

This position is with the Natural Resources Management Unit of ARS in Mandan, ND. The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical support to disseminate research findings, products and tools through a variety of communication platforms, tours, workshops, and symposia.

Duties

Help
  • Actively engages in and documents research at the Laboratory to facilitate effective communication of these activities to stakeholders and customers
  • Develops products and utilizes media formats and technology, to most effectively deliver research information to stakeholders, producers and the agricultural community.
  • Documents the impact and effectiveness of communications and technology transfer products.
  • Collects all necessary materials identified for inclusion in technology transfer products, guided by USDA, ARS and other government laws and policies regarding the legal use of such materials, including copyright and author permissions.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are:

GS-11: Applicants must demonstrate at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service. The specialized experience requirements for this position include: knowledge of crop, livestock and rangeland systems sufficient to communicate progress and technology resulting from research; ability to create electronic, printed, multimedia, and virtual products to communicate research outcomes, ability to communicate and work with scientists, stakeholders, and offices to share information with customers and agricultural community effectively.

OR

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education or doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) related to the position

This position may be eligible to telework up to four days per week, based upon the duties of the position. This position may also be eligible for flexible work arrangements as determined by agency policy and any applicable collective bargaining agreements.
