Duties

Help
  • Instruct applicants on testing procedures and starts, observes, times and ends the test or test segment as directed.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure that all forms are properly completed, and makes corrections as needed.
  • Monitor applicants to detect possible imposters and deals with those imposters.
  • Pick up and return controlled test material at the designated or shipping point.
  • Maintain test room control and decorum with the assistance of military recruiters who assist in maintaining student test session control and test security.
  • Transfer materials to and from the site, including the school being tested, and generally involves travel for a maximum of 1 to 2 hours per test session.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. General Experience: One year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as provide instructions and briefings to individuals and groups; use of automatic database systems such as (i.e., MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to retrieve, create, input, update spreadsheets, correspondence, tracker logs, and slides; safeguard and secure controlled items such as (i.e., testing materials); and interpret and apply federal and state regulations, local policies and procedures pertaining administrating test to individuals/organizations.
OR
Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.

  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required. (For intermittent employees, i.e., those who do not have regularly scheduled tours of duty, each day or part of a day in pay status counts as 1 day of credit toward the 520 days in a pay status required for completion of probation.)

U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

The US Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM) is comprised of two geographical sectors and staffed with personnel from all military services. The mission of USMEPCOM and the Montgomery Military Processing Station (MEPS) with duty location Montgomery, AL is to process individuals for enlistment or induction into the armed services, based on DOD-approved peacetime and mobilization standards.

This position does NOT provide guaranteed work hours each week, and work will be assigned on an intermittent "as needed basis". The work schedule will be flexible and the employee will be called in to duty as needed.

This position will NOT lead to a full-time position.
