Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for positions involved in and supporting DoD maintenance and repair activities, such as maintenance and repair of weapon systems, hardware, equipment installation infrastructure to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Help
  • Inspects, dismantles, repairs, relocates, modifies, maintains, aligns, installs, and operationally checks cranes, hoists, associated lifting, rigging and suspension hardware and fixed or semi-fixed production machinery.
  • Works on machinery, equipment and systems such as a variety of oil and lube pumping stations; vehicle exhaust systems and other equipment such as large overhead sectional, roll up and bi-fold doors, steel security doors.
  • Fabricates, assembles, modifies and installs a variety of articles of sheet metal such as gutters, ducts, flashings, safety guards, roof jacks, downspouts, sink tops, drain boards, shelves, tool boxes and other containers, counter and table tops.
  • Assembles and fastens fabricated parts by installing bolts, rivets, screws and/or seaming, and spot welding. Drives a government vehicle in performance of duties.

Minimum Qualification: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision-I have the ability to perform common Maintenance Mechanic tasks including maintenance and repair of production and non-production machinery and equipment. I can assist journey level mechanics using common hand tools to remove damaged parts and make repairs; utilize test and measuring devices to make adjustments and conduct operational tests of machinery and equipment. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
