Duties

Help

As a Director Homeownership Center, you will:

  • Direct a supervisory staff who manage the professional, technical and clerical staff required for the production and risk asset management of Single Family Housing programs, including but not limited to: loan production; asset management; disposition of real estate owned; new initiatives; initial project planning; technical processing phases; customer service; and quality assurance.
  • Identify problems and trends and develop appropriate corrective strategies. Keep HQs informed of such findings for the purpose of assessing their impact on current HUD policies and procedures, resolve problems and issues that hinder the effective operation of the assigned functions or the quality of program accomplishment and eliminate impediments to improve the quality of program assistance.
  • Assure that housing production, quality assurance, customer assistance, and any other program responsibilities (such as procurement and contract management) assigned to the Center operate in accordance with the current policies and procedures established by the Department.
  • Interpret regulations, policies and procedures for FHA Single Family clients, program intermediaries (both public and private) and the media to further the aims of the National Housing Act and other related HUD statutes relevant to the Department's and Single Family Housing's goals and programs.
  • Identify resource needs and upon receipt of annual budget, identify, manage and use resources (e.g., staff, space, automation and other equipment, travel, training) to achieve, maintain and promote an efficient and effective Homeownership Center.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience:

Specialized experience is one year of experience at the GS-14 level, or equivalent that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes:

- Programmatic and/or administrative management experience as a director, deputy director or equivalent of a lending institution, real estate asset management entity, housing counseling, non-profit, or affordable housing program; AND
- Responsibility for lending, audit, oversight, compliance, quality control and/or quality assurance of funding and service delivery.

Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
