You will work as a senior engineering technician in support of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation activities dealing with explosives, propellants, and
other energetics.
You will be responsible for modifying, evaluating, and maintaining test capabilities, fixtures, and test methodologies related to research and functional testing of energetics, as well as developing new unique capabilities.
You will lead a team of technicians and engineers in performing complex technical tasks with minimal oversight, in accordance with appropriate weapons specifications, military standards, prior research guidance, and other documentation.
You will work in a varied, complex research and test environment while demonstrating competence and creativity in areas that require development of new concepts and uses of material, hardware and/or software.
You will provide expert advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, peers and sponsors on specific technical aspects of test capabilities and methodologies, systems or concept development.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
Your resume one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (NT-04) or equivalent GS level (GS-11/12) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector evaluating research and testing procedures for activities related to energetics (e.g. explosives, propellants, munitions) to develop technical engineering instructions and provide project planning to support the execution of operational testing for defense systems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
