Duties

Help

As a Intelligence Operations Specialist GS 0132 7/9/11/12/13, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:

  • Supporting ongoing highly complex intelligence collection and dissemination activities.
  • Prepares finished intelligence reports, collection plans and manuals, and guides for field collectors.
  • Assisting junior analysts/specialists in organizing material, developing, and applying basic analytical techniques, and preparing final products.
  • Reviews collection requirements and directing these requirements to the proper collection activity.
  • Identifies and researches requirements, directives, intelligence databases, and various ancillary sources to gather and disseminate intelligence information in support of ongoing or emerging intelligence program or project requirements.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-07 grade level (starting salary $49,157) if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:

  • Assisting with OSINT collection on current and emerging threat AND
  • Ensuring the intelligence data is properly collected, exploited, and disseminated to supported organizations. OR
One full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement.

You qualify for the GS-09 grade level (starting salary $60,129) if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
  • Performing as an entry level Intelligence Operations Specialist OSINT collection on current and emerging threats; AND
  • Ensuring intelligence data is properly collected, exploited, and disseminated to supported organizations. OR
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

You qualify for the GS-11 grade level (starting salary $72,750) if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
  • Conducting OSINT collection on current and emerging threats AND
  • Ensuring the intelligence data is properly collected, exploited, and disseminated to supported organizations.
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of the first two years may be used to qualify for the GS-11 level.

You qualify for the GS-12 grade level (starting salary $87,198) if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
  • Conducting OSINT collection on current and emerging threats AND
  • Ensuring the intelligence data is properly collected, exploited, and disseminated to supported organizations.
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level (starting salary $103,690) if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
  • Conducting OSINT collection on current and emerging threats AND
  • Ensuring the intelligence data is properly collected, exploited, and disseminated to supported organizations.
There is no substitution for education at Grade Levels 12 and 13.

Note: Current Federal employees on a developmental career ladder position under the same series as this announcement: If selected and you advance to the next higher grade level prior to establishment of an entry on duty date, you may be hired at the higher grade level and continue the career ladder progression identified in this announcement.
