As a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SECURITY) you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Serve as a member of the Cybersecurity, Compliance, and Risk Management team supporting the development, implementation, and operation of the Cyber Security Program and Agency systems, networks, and/or enclaves. As such, the incumbent will serve as the cybersecurity workforce analyst and specialist in the development, testing, implementation, and operation of the DCSA Cyber Security Program for ESS and DCSA administrative systems.
- Define, coordinate, and recommend comprehensive and coherent program protection measures for technology projects/programs.
.- Apply extensive, in-depth knowledge of National Security issues, infrastructure protection initiatives, information operations, political, strategic, and sociological policy in providing executive oversight, scientific and programmatic guidance regarding the development and implementation or protection planning, policies, processes, methods, tools, and procedures.
- Integrate information systems security standards, requirements, and practices into DCSA
- Supports in compliance of agency DoD 8570.01-M and DoD 8140 program. Assesses DoD requirements to ensure agency compliance. Reviews and evaluates existing cybersecurity requirements and provides methods for reporting and correcting violations or breakdowns.
- Establishes implementation and oversight plans. Establishes and manages a coordinated security assessment process for information technologies governed by the DCSA cybersecurity program.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
DCSA, as a newly designated Defense Agency is undergoing a multi-year transformation that includes a significant expansion of predecessor agencies' authorities and responsibilities. Mission accretion and associated growth in personnel and resources requires deliberate coordination and planning across operations and support activities to achieve effective outcomes while simultaneously establishing and integrating new activities, initiatives and projects. The new organization will be comprised of nearly 13,000 government and contractor personnel operation throughout the United States and overseas supporting stakeholders across the federal government.
