Duties

Help

This position is in the Cyber Investigations Office (CIO) located in Arlington, VA, under the Investigations Division.

If selected for this position, you will serve as an Information Technology Specialist in the Cyber Investigations Office, responsible for maintaining and supporting Cyber's IT infrastructure needs. The duties are as follows:

  • Providing customer support to IT users on operating systems, databases and application software/hardware
  • Train users on new or changed operating systems, hardware and applications
  • Assist in developing and implementing plans for cloud data archival and virtual machine use
  • Communicate with users and/or senior IT Specialists.

Qualifications

To you qualify at the GS-12 level, you must possess one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at least equivalent to a GS-11 IT Specialist position that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Examples include applying knowledge of IT infrastructure support to include data structure, operating systems, software applications, and reviewing audit log events; developing plans for installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining IT Systems with little guidance or supervision; administering and securing computer operating systems and/or network devices; and examining computers that have been subject to common adversary tactics, techniques and attack vectors.

To qualify at the GS-13 level, you must possess one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at least equivalent to a GS-12 IT Specialist position that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Examples include applying knowledge of IT infrastructure support to include data structure, operating systems, software applications, and reviewing audit log events; developing plans for installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining IT Systems with little guidance or supervision, administering and securing computer operating systems and/or network devices and advising senior managers on critical issues; and examining computers that have been subject to common adversary tactics, techniques and attack vectors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade level (or equivalent).
