Clarification from the agency

Open to US Citizens and Non-Citizens residing in the local commuting area (defined as Beauregard, Rapides, Sabine and Vernon parishes). This position is located at the Wheelock Fitness Center on Fort Polk.

Duties

Help
  • Leads a staff of 3-12 employees who perform work up to the NF-0189-03 level. May train lower graded or new employees.
  • Leads and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis. Sets the pace of work to be performed.
  • Serves as a recreation assistant in support of recreational activities applying a practical knowledge of recreational activities and skills in the use of recreation materials, and facilities.
  • May be required to help plan, conduct, publicize and arrange support for a variety of sponsored events, social activities, tournaments and related functions.
  • May be required to operate a government vehicle.

  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed.

Highly Preferred Qualifications**:
1. At least one year experience in Fitness Field or Fitness Education/ Certification. (Transcripts or Certificates must be uploaded at the time of application to be considered).
2. Experience in cash handling procedures and maintaining staff schedules.
