Duties

Help
  • You will be responsible for assuring contractors and Government adhere to the contract, quality and technical requirements during the processing of missile systems and components.
  • You will assure contractors and Government adhere to the contract, quality and technical requirements for Re-entry System components; Tomahawk components; launcher components; guidance units, and other related Strategic Weapons Systems.
  • You will assure the functional integrity of the system and technical procedures associated with the missiles, missile components, instrumentation, launcher, guidance, support equipment, and ordnance hardware processing.
  • You will participate as part of a multifaceted team to perform Root Cause Analysis in order to assist in identifying contributing factors when a procedural issue is identified that requires further investigation and clarification.
  • You will verify performance and results of non-destructive tests related to structural assemblies and other materials to determine conformance with applicable standards, specifications and requirements.
  • You will review and evaluate products conformance thru observing and analyzing: test data results; accompanying documentation and quality records to verify compliance with specifications; and related requirements including quality of workmanship.
  • You will verify contractors and Government performance of manual and computerized operation and environment checks of electronic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems.
  • You will report on quality levels found, and deficiencies identified during inspection processes.
  • You will verify performance and results of non-destructive tests related to structural assemblies and other materials to determine conformance with standards, specifications and requirements.
  • You will be responsible for maintenance of a broad range of quality assurance surveillance plans to evaluate the product assurance, manufacturing, quality, and processing systems for compliance with contractual requirements.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Production, Quality and Manufacturing, Level II. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to qualify for inclusion into the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least three years of general experience, 1 year which was equivalent to at least the NH-01 pay band (GS-04 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: applying practical quality assurance methods and processes (e.g. interpreting technical data, data analysis, report writing, interpreting regulations) to ensure compliance with contract requirements and engineering specifications during the processing, testing, repair, or assembly of Warfare systems, subsystems or components.

Education


Education may be substituted for experience as follows:

  • You have successfully completed a four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position; or
  • You have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
