Summary

Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures.
Prepares food by sorting, washing, peeling, and cutting fresh fruit and vegetables.
Clean kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks and refrigerators. Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses, and silverware. Loads and operate dishwashers. Stores cleaned dishes, glasses and silverware.
Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments, and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages on a serving line or tables.
Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position
A one year probationary period may be required
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty
Subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Ch. 2-15j(1) to include a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities
Required to complete a medical examination within 30 days of hire
Incumbent must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds
Must be willing to work an occasional rotating shift to include weekend and/or holiday shift as needed based on mission needs
Subject to continuous standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending
Light to moderate physical effort is required

Qualifications
Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and do simple tasks that are the requirements of this job such as: cleaning tables and cooking utensils, setting up food in lines, steam tables, and dining room tables, making cold sandwiches, and operating a dishwasher, etc.
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE:
Must have knowledge of basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures. Must have the ability to perform routine manual tasks involving few steps, and be able to read and understand written material. Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
