Duties

Help

This position is located in the Office of the Chief of Staff, Data Analytics Directorate. The Office of the Chief of Staff encompasses Strategic Planning and Initiatives and Data Analytics directorates. SPI oversees the OIG’s strategic and annual plans; leads the development of top management challenges for the EPA and the CSB; and initiates projects to identify best OIG practices. DA supports the Office of Audit, the Office of Evaluation, and the Office of Investigations by leveraging advanced analytics that highlight key risk areas to program integrity within EPA programs and operations.

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Lead and advise on the best practices and methodologies for creating and maintaining Power BI dashboards.
  • Utilize SQL to query databases and Python/R to extract, transform, and load data.
  • Develop new dynamic statistical data visualizations using Power BI software for audits, evaluations, and investigative matters.
  • Analyze user needs across diverse stakeholder groups to identify common solutions to unique issues.
  • Manage dashboards in Power BI Report Server.

This is a Public Trust Position. Employment in this position requires a background investigation. Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 

GS-13: 1) Analyzing data involving audits, evaluations, and investigations; 2) Developing data dashboards using business intelligence solutions (e.g. Power BI) to help the OIG prevent fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement; and 3) Advising the OIG on methods and procedures regarding data analysis, dashboard creation, and dashboard maintenance.
