Summary

The Applications and Platforms Services at the NASA Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is seeking a highly qualified candidate to serve as the NASA Web Modernization Lead. This position leads the migration, consolidation, redesign, and continued transformation of the Agency website, NASA.GOV. Oversees the creation or upgrades of new and existing public websites; assessment and consolidation of existing public websites; and archiving and decommissioning out-of-date public websites.

Help
  • Chairs the NASA-wide web management board (WMB) responsible for assessing, streamlining, modernizing, and maintaining NASA's digital presence and maximizing the effectiveness of digital communications.
  • Leads the development and execution of an integrated web strategy that establishes critical requirements for the Agency's public web presence and a sustainable governance structure to meet both current and future website needs.
  • Develops and provides oversight and direction for short and long-term planning in setting the Agency's web strategy.
  • Provides leadership and direction for the continual maintenance of NASA's public websites by managing NASA's data, information, platforms, and tools as strategic assets.
  • Conducts formulation and execution of the program budget and resources to support web development and sustainability efforts.
  • Serves as an expert on the development and implementation of web operations and content management to communicate Agency programs and initiatives.
  • Leads website content management across the Agency leading, developing, implementing and overseeing the integrated policies, programs and objectives for the agency's web strategies and associated activities.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and builds coalitions among executive level leadership, liaising across senior leaders of NASA's organizations in order to execute the agency's web strategies and associated activities.
  • Analyzes user-centric and user needs, including 508, in order to maximize digital communications.

  • The salary range for the GS-15 listed on the vacancy announcement is equivalent to the lowest GS-15 and highest GS-15 locality pay across the agency; the selectee's final salary will be set based on their duty location.

Qualifications

You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.

To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level leading website modernization efforts, including external websites for a large organization; leading the strategy, project planning, development, implementation, and management of digital technologies, web development and design, content management and data integrity, and information architecture of a major/enterprise-level website; and researching technology trends and providing recommendations to leadership.
