As a Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Investigations, you will provide executive staff assistance to the Assistant Inspector General for Investigation, through broad evaluation of program status and strategic program planning activity for the Regional Offices, Headquarters Operations.
Summary

As a Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Investigations, you will:
Prioritize the broad spectrum of allegations referred to the Assistant Inspector General for Investigation, in light of applicable laws, regulations and judicial opinions to determine that extent and depth are of such national importance as to warrant the allocation of investigative resources and or whether there may be potential for civil or administrative action.
Evaluate operational implications of proposed legislation and regulations relating to Department programs.
Share management responsibility for all initiatives of the Immediate Office of the AIGI, Headquarters Operations, and Regional Offices of Investigation with the Assistant Inspector General for Investigation (AIGI) on a daily basis.
Provide technical advice relating to investigation matters and keep the Inspector General and appropriate HUD officials informed of the results of ongoing investigation activities.
Develop and recommend new or revised investigation programs to allow the Department to effectively carry out its mission and meet national policy objectives.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Age Restriction: The date immediately preceding an individual's 37th birthday is the maximum entry age for original appointment to a law enforcement officer position. Medical Requirements: The duties of positions in this series require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather.
