Serves as a member of the faculty supporting the mission and academic programs of ES and NDU through teaching and seminar instruction, curriculum scholarship and research, service to the college and university, and engagement with external stakeholders. Promotes a climate that fosters respect among students, faculty, staff, and administration from a range of diverse backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives. The primary functions are described below:
Teaching and Seminar Instruction
Education Requirement: A Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or international equivalent) in a discipline or focus area relevant to the ES academic program, such as business, finance, economics, international relations, supply chain management, technology and innovation, political economy, business strategy, industrial and organizational analysis, or similar disciplines/focus areas.
Official transcripts will be required at time of selection to verify educational requirements are met.

This is a Title 10 Excepted Service Appointment. Appointment is not to exceed 3 years with the possibility for extension. The position is governed by 10 USC 1595 and NDUI 1416.01 dated March 2017.
Initial Probationary Period: You will be required to serve an initial probationary period of 18 months.
Telework: Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination.

Factor 1 Teaching Experience: Describe your experience teaching courses in a discipline related to national security, such as strategic resourcing, supply chain management, technology and innovation, industrial organization, industry analysis, or business strategy at an accredited higher education institution. Please differentiate and quantify how much time you spent teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level on a full-time (or equivalent) basis.
Factor 2 Curriculum Scholarship and Research: Describe your experience in scholarly activities, collaborative efforts, and contributions to developing and delivering academic programs. As appropriate, describe research or academic applications in which you integrated theory and frameworks from fields such as finance, marketing, economics, logistics, management, technology, innovation, public policy, strategy, science and engineering; experience writing cases and teaching notes; and/or research on U.S., European, Russian, or Indio-Pacific national security resourcing, national innovation bases, and national/defense industrial bases.
Factor 3 Academic Leadership and Service: Describe your experience in formal or peer leadership roles that served the interests of an educational or research institution, to include serving in administrative positions, leading interdisciplinary teams, or managing programs within the organization. Explain how you contributed to positive outcomes, such as organizational innovation and institutional collaboration.
Factor 4 Engagement and Outreach: Describe your experience establishing and maintaining professional relationships with policy makers in the executive and legislative branches of government, thought leaders in academic and non-profit research institutes, industry leaders, and private-sector executives, both in the United States and abroad. Explain how you would leverage these relationships as a member of the teaching faculty and why they would benefit the ES academic program.
