The primary purpose of this position primary purpose of the Digital Analytics Lead position is to establish and oversee an analytics program that monitors and assesses public-facing digital products, channels, platforms, and programs. 

Work in key areas that influence digital product development, content and distribution strategy, marketing, and public program performance.

Help define and report on quantitative and qualitative Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other key metrics across all public-facing digital channels (e.g., websites, social media, YouTube, mobile apps, podcasts, etc.).

Design and build automated solutions for business intelligence and reporting dashboards in partnership with the Chief of Digital Product and Experience and the Chief Technology Officer using museum-approved products like Google Data Studio and Tableau. 

Evaluate digital marketing campaigns for multiple stakeholders utilizing various attribution methods and assess cross-campaign interactions to optimize marketing mix.

Perform complex ad hoc queries and analyses that combine multiple tools and data sources and types, including analysis for other stakeholders/projects as needed.

Identify and analyze trends, patterns, and shifts in user behavior, both independently and in collaboration with product managers and other National Gallery departments.

Evaluate and monitor user research for development of new platforms or optimization of existing channels alongside User Experience Designers and members of the Visitor Experience and Insights Department.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the NF-2210-14.  For this position, candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the NF-13 level in the Federal service, establish and overseeing an analytics program that monitors and assesses public-facing digital products, channels, platforms, and programs for a major organization or major institution.

  1. Mastery knowledge of and expert level proficiency in enterprise digital analytics platforms and related technologies – including the skills necessary for the extraction and subsequent use of data from other applications and databases.

  2. Mastery knowledge of building and managing dashboards, from setting the strategy and vision to executing on data infrastructure and information visualizations.

  3. Expertise in analyzing and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets and create a measurement strategy that leads to superior feedback loops for our stakeholders and users.

  4. Ability to develop creative solutions to problems with the ability to work with a blank slate and inspire others.

  5. Ability to take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into useful and valuable digital products.
