As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-15, you will lead staff, teams, and branch chiefs responsible for overseeing the programs that coordinate and monitor the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) program.

Duties

Help
  • Directs and coordinates the implementation of the CLIA User Fee Plan, including improvements and administration of the collection process and overseeing major operational activities.
  • Directs the evaluation of existing CLIA data systems to make recommendations for the modification of the systems or development of new systems.
  • Directs, coordinates, and monitors the CLIA program, including: developing regulations, policies, and procedures for the administration of CLIA.
  • Directs project teams to ensure project management, quality management, performance, risk/issue management are integrated within the program and closely followed.
  • Works closely with regional consortia partners, CMS components, State Agencies, consumer advocates, professional organizations, beneficiaries, and others to assure effective administration of CLIA.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 grade level, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Leading quality programs or projects for the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA); (2) Effectively communicating healthcare quality goals with stakeholders, public groups, or private sector groups; and (3) Supervising or leading work performed by subordinate administrative or professional staff.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
