Duties

Help
  • You will provide educational, analytical, and administrative technical guidance, advice, and assistance on educational and administrative operations, programs, and activities of the organization.
  • You will provide advice and guidance to the appropriate administrators, management officials, faculty, staff, and students.
  • You will develop, implement, and perform ongoing responsibilities regarding the administrative aspects of undergraduate, graduate, or doctorial education programs, services, and activities of the department.
  • You will provide administering, coordinating, and monitoring clerkship and resident programs and activities.
  • You will provide technical guidance, advice, and assistance on program operations, policies, effectiveness, and/or activities to the leadership, faculty, and students.
  • You will resolve complex problems that may impact the operation of the programs.
  • You will review and interpret Federal, USU school or college, and/or accrediting organizations policies, procedures, and requirements to administer programs, determine applicability, develop implementation procedures.
  • You will provide technical guidance and assistance on administrative and/or academic policies, procedures, and requirements for academic appointments, re-appointments, and/or promotions to various positions.
  • You will provide assistance for promotions to various positions such as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor. Management and coordinate academic appointments and educational activities of various departments and/or branch campuses.
  • You will evaluate educational, financial, and logistical processes, activities, issues, or problems based on project assignments.
  • You will analyze practices and procedures dealing with funds, utilization of classroom and office space, procurement, and equipment and materials.
  • You will develop and use multiple automated systems to include work processing, spreadsheets, database, graphic design, information technology, and management information systems.
  • You will prepare and issue reports using computer data bases including education, grade, appointment, training qualifications, schedules. Collect, interprets, and analyze training and resource data.
  • You will develop and prepare regular and/or special reports for education reports for accrediting agencies, budget reports; statistical reports; travel reports; student matriculation and grade reports; equipment reports; and national surveys.
  • You will review, administer, and monitor necessary budgets for supporting the operation of the department's educational programs.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing administrative policies or procedures to improve the efficiency or effectiveness of a medical education training program.

Education


Education may be used to substitute specialized experience as follows:

Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree
-OR-
Successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled
-OR-
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
