Duties

Help
  • Develops performance plans/rates employees and recommended ratings of record.
  • Make necessary adjustments in priorities, procedures, or objectives, or the need for special support or assistance to Army customers within their Area of Responsibility.
  • Conduct program planning and execution for the Logistics Assistance Program (LAP) within an assigned Area of responsibility.
  • Develops and recommends to Logistics Assistance Directorate (LAD) management the establishment of local procedures to govern logistical operations and the management of LAP resources.
  • Provide general and specific advice to commanders of Major Army Units on TACOM LCMC equipment-related logistics issues.
  • Consolidate logistics issue findings of multi-directorate teams to provide feedback to the LAD.
  • Reviews reports of technical logistics problems from locally-assigned LARs, carefully examining them for similarities, trends, and inconsistencies.
  • Develop courses of action to resolve equipment readiness problems, coordinates plan for resolution with cognizant and concerned organizations
  • Investigate technically complex logistics issues and problems which the locally-assigned LARs have been unable to resolve throughout a major Army Units area of responsibility.
  • Takes disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands.
  • Directs and communicates with subordinate STRs and LARs to insure uniformity of reporting and implementation of LAP directives and policies.

  • Position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban which bans individuals convicted of misdemeanors domestics violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
  • The employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position. This is an Acquisition Position and requires Level III certification in Acquisition Career Field L (Lifecycle Logistics).
  • This position is subject to a mobility or rotation agreement as a condition of employment. You will be required to relocate based on management needs for the duration of employment in this or successor positions.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 or GS-11 level in the Federal service which includes: advice on repair of equipment and subsystems; monitoring unit readiness and analyzing logistic problem areas to determine root causes and recommend corrective action to field command elements or equipment proponent agencies; advising field commanders, maintenance officers, maintenance technicians, and combat support personnel with maintenance advice, assistance, and training for the operation and maintenance of military materiel.

Education

The following course and time requirements apply to this position:

  • The Supervisory Development Course (SDC) must be completed within one year of placement into the position.
  • The Foundation Course (FC) is required for all supervisors and managers hired after 30 September 2006.
  • The Basic Course (BC) must be completed within one year of placement into the position.
  • The Intermediate Course (IC) must be completed within two years after placement into the position.
  • The Advanced Course (AC) must be completed within two years after placement into the position. Similar training will be reviewed for equivalent.
