Duties

Help

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-9. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Ensures that raw material and packaging components are available as required for Coining and Numismatic production needs.
  • Monitor and analyze usage transactions and trends to mitigate possible material shortages; track the timing of reorder actions; prepare systems entries; and oversee all coining material related activity to ensure that inventories are accurately reported and maintained.
  • Utilize inventory tracking systems and control records to respond to user inquiries regarding material availability.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

For the GS-9, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Utilization of an asset tracking system; AND
- Performing physical inventories for an organization; AND
-Documentary control of the receipt and/or issuance of stock property items in accordance with established policies, regulations, and procedures.

- OR You may qualify with a masters or equivalent graduate degree.

-OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a masters degree.

- OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.

- OR a combination of the education and experience.

For the GS-7, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-5grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Utilization of an asset tracking system; AND
- Assisting with physical inventories for an organization;

-OR One full year of graduate level education

-OR Superior Academic Achievement demonstrated through class standing (upper third of the graduating class); grade point average (a GPA of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on 4 years education or courses completed during the final 2 years; or a GPA of 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on required courses in the major field); or election to membership in a national scholastic honor society. A copy of transcript or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned is required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • All employees are required to wear face masks while on MINT property.
  • As required by Executive Order 14043, Federal employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 regardless of the employee's duty location or work arrangement (e.g., telework, remote work, etc.), subject to such exceptions as required by law. If selected, you will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and submit documentation of proof of vaccination by November 22, 2021 or before appointment or onboarding with the agency, if after November 22. The agency will provide additional information regarding what information or documentation will be needed and how you can request of the agency a legally required exception from this requirement.     Due to COVID-19, the agency is currently in an expanded telework posture. If selected, you may be expected to temporarily telework (if the position is applicable for telework), even if your home is located outside the local commuting area. Once employees are permitted to return to the office, you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within 30 days. At that time, you may be eligible to request to continue to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the Mint's telework policy.

  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
