Duties

Help
  • Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing, such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and fresh or canned vegetables.
  • Makes cold sandwich fillings. Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading. Sets up and replenishes salad bar.
  • Uses and cleans a variety of cooking utensils to measure, weigh, and process food items. Cleans, stores, and maintains all equipment and work areas after each use.
  • Cleans other work areas and equipment, such as worktables, floors, walk-in refrigerators, etc., on an established cleaning schedule.
  • Follows established sanitation procedures when handling food.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Pursuant to EO 14043, all Federal employees, regardless of duty location or work arrangement, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by November 22, 2021, or before entrance on duty if after November 22, subject to exceptions as required by law.

  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a medical examination.
  • Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift light and medium weight items.
  • A complete health screening is required.
  • This position may include nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Must meet state/local age requirements of 20 years for the serving of alcoholic beverages.

Qualifications

Work experience in preparing foods and cooking simple foods and short orders in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess.

Demonstration of the following work behavior is desirable:

a. Neatness and good grooming.
b. Dependability.
c. Ability to work under pressure.

This bowling alley, located in the vicinity of Elizabethtown, has everything required for both beginners and experienced players. Houston Bowling Center is located on Fort Knox. We are open to the public.
