Duties

Help
  • Serving as a key lead on strategic technology planning that meets the goals of the Superintendent of Documents and the front-line customer interface units within Library Services and Content Management organization.
  • Assisting the LSCM Managing Director in prioritizing projects handled by the Projects and Systems unit, based on budget, resources and agency's strategic goals and direction.
  • Participating in project meetings, feasibility studies, business cases, product evaluation, and providing recommendations for process improvement and the development of new initiatives for the Library Services and Content Management organization.
  • Providing supervisory oversight on current systems and their value to the library community, recommending, developing and deploying upgrades in a timely, proactive manner.
  • Directing and manage long-range work plans to accomplish the operational goals and objectives for the Library Services and Content Management Projects and Systems Team.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Supervisory Information Systems Management Specialist, PG -0301-15, you must meet the following requirements:

To minimally qualify for the PG-15 level, you must meet the following requirements. You must posses (1) year of specialized experience at the PG-14 (or equivalent) level or higher? Specialized experience includes: Directing day-to-day operational activities for an organization that supports important public information programs; directing the strategic planning/deployment/evaluation of new initiatives and projects including but not limited to deployment of new technologies and applications to meet the needs of key stakeholders and the public; oversees and guides innovation and change, project management activities, including process improvement and performs complex administrative work in developing standards, methods, procedures; motivates and works with a highly skilled workforce.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement(11/30/2021) to be considered.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Background Investigation:
To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully completed a background investigation for a Public Trust Security Clearance. This review could include financial issues such as delinquency in the payment of debts, child support and/or tax obligations, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs. Depending on the type of background investigation required, the security process may take between 6 weeks to 12 months.

The Agency may rescind the tentative offer, if the candidate is unable to obtain an interim clearance.
