Summary

Provides direction for scientific and financial oversight of Agriculture and Food Research Initiative investments and coordinates oversight activities across all NIFA science institutes.
Provides analysis to ensure NIFA-wide coordination of the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative across funding authorities, funding mechanisms, and functions.
Coordinates post award management of Coordinated Agricultural Project awards made by the Sustainable Agriculture Systems program.
Provides oversight and maintains complete, accurate and current data on continuation grant commitments.
Tracks and monitors the implementation and impacts of Agriculture and Food Research Initiative investments.

Qualifications

For this position, specialized experience is experience preparing scientific reports that may include scientific narrative, statistics, charts, tables; maintaining data on program statuses; and providing analysis for program implementation and the distribution of program funds.

Qualifying experience for GS-14 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-13 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience overseeing and managing funding and budget documents, data, and distribution of budget allocations; tracking program actions; and providing oversight to grant commitments.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
