This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS), Data and Systems Group (DSG), Division of Business and Data Analytics (DBDA) .

  • Work with digital product teams in the Division and Group to implement data collection from state Medicaid and CHIP agencies; provide technical assistance to states; and assess data quality.
  • Provide consultation and technical assistance to digital product teams at the point of data collection.
  • Educate and inform team members, partners, and other stakeholders on using Medicaid and CHIP data when designing Medicaid and CHIP research studies.
  • Draft written communications to leadership related to the collection, review, and reporting of Medicaid and CHIP data.

In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
1) Developing and implementing healthcare research projects related to Medicaid and CHIP data; 2) Advising on data collection, data quality, and data reporting to provide technical assistance to states and other stakeholders on Medicaid and CHIP data; and 3) Preparing written communications such as reports, summary documents, questions and answers, and factsheets related to the collection, review, evaluation, and reporting on data.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.

Education

Education Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements, all candidates must have the following educational requirements:

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

OR

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
