Primary responsibilities include projects such as the application and adaptation of new and improved approaches to the design, development, and implementation of testing, quality assurance configuration, installation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked and cloud systems used for the transmission of information in voice and data formats. Additionally, the incumbent provides diagnosis and resolution of network service problems and issues. The Information Technology Specialist executes multi-year plans utilizing cutting-edge cloud and security technologies and develops new policies or makes significant changes to existing policies. The incumbent is responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing IT security requirements to meet current and evolving IT security requirements under FISMA. The position reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
The work of this position is to aid the EAC in accomplishing its mission by providing excellent technical support for all staff, being directly involved in the implementation of new technologies, working closely with the security team to assist in defending our network, and administrating the maintenance of our cloud environment. Specific assignment areas include responsibilities as follows:
Bachelor's or higher degree in a related field is preferred.

America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA). The incumbent of this position is a tier two systems administrator with progressive, professional experience in networking, datacenter, and cloud technologies. This is a hands-on position that requires a solid foundation of both help desk operations and the technical implementation of longer-term projects. Practical experience with best practices for vulnerability scanning, patch management, and baselining according to CIS Benchmarks is essential as well.
