Duties

Help

As a SECURITY SPECIALIST - TITLE 32, GS-0080-11, you will initiate and implement policies and procedures for the sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs and to protect SCI resources. Act as an expert on all SCI security matters. Develop goals and objectives to meet organizational missions and security requirements. Research, interpret, analyze and apply Presidential Executive Orders, Director Central Intelligence Directives (DCIDs), Defense Intelligence Agency Manuals, DoD Manuals, Army/Air Force Manuals, Army Regulations/Air Force Instructions, and local Operating Instructions. Establish, manage, and control collateral and SCI classified information and material within the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) affecting the unit mission as the SCI Control Officer. Ensure SCIFs comply with all construction and physical requirements, standards, and regulations. Serve as the principal advisor to the intelligence unit commander/SIO on SCI, physical, computer, information, personnel, and administrative security. Recommend or make changes in unit security policy and directives, based on personal analysis of policy directives and objectives. Manage and direct the activities and personnel of the unit Special Security Office. Set and adjust priorities and prepare schedules based on organization priorities and missions. Administer the SCI security clearance program for all assigned personnel, ensure all required clearances are up-to-date and completed. Track, administer, terminate or transfer SCI clearances for all personnel. Perform other duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard.
You must be assigned to a compatible military position.
Wear of the military uniform.

This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
Must not have any disciplinary action (Article 15 or Court-Martial) for engaging in an unprofessional or inappropriate relationship as defined in applicable DoD Instructions concerning Army and Air Force Professional and Unprofessional Relationships.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
Experience in a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems. Ability to develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods. Experience in information, personnel, and physical security to effectively implement, integrate and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security programs. Knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, and eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have least 36 months experience administering server-based networked systems, distributed applications, network storage, messaging, and application monitoring required to provision, sustain, operate and integrate cyber networked systems and applications. Experience in research and analysis reports on physical, information, computer, and personnel security. Experienced in researching, interpreting, analyzing and applying DoD Manuals, Air Force/Army Manuals, Air Force/Army Instructions, and local Operating Instructions. Experience managing, assessing and conducting self-inspections and able to present reports. Knowledge of sensitive compartmented information-associated security programs and measures and security clearance processes.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
