This position is part of the IBC FMD Administrative Support Division, Office of the Secretary of Interior. The Financial Specialist provides cardholders and approvers support and assistance with all charge card processes, and provides Administrative/Organizational Program Coordinator (A/OPC) support to IBC charge card holders.
Summary
This position is part of the IBC FMD Administrative Support Division, Office of the Secretary of Interior. The Financial Specialist provides cardholders and approvers support and assistance with all charge card processes, and provides Administrative/Organizational Program Coordinator (A/OPC) support to IBC charge card holders.
Provide multiple offices and bureaus support and assistance with their individual charge card programs.
Review and consolidate charge card issues, communicating issues to charge card management and to the bank. Monitor and track bureau bank requests and tickets.
Review and report on the status and disposition of issues.
Conduct training, coordinate application on-boarding and exit clearance, and run and analyze daily bank reports of cardholder activity and account status.
Provide electronic file support for the section, keeping files current and organized, and dispositioning of files according to record keeping guidelines.
Suitable for Federal employment, determined by background investigation.
Direct Deposit of pay is required.
Selective Service registration required for male applicants, unless exempt.

Qualifications
GS-7: Applicants must possess one of the options below in order to qualify for the GS-7 level
A. One year of specialized experience that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-05 or equivalent level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is in or directly related to the line of work of this position and has equipped you with the knowledge and competencies to successfully perform the duties of this position. More specifically, this requirement involves experience with an automated charge card system and a rudimentary understanding of interface files to an accounting and/or business system; knowledge of principles, practices, laws, and regulations regarding charge card concepts; knowledge of or experience working with customers on behalf of the organization, and assisting customers in troubleshooting problems within a charge card system. OR
B. One full year of graduate level education directly related to the position that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position. (Applicants who choose this option must submit transcripts.) OR
C. A combination of qualifying graduate education and specialized experience that equals 100%. For example, 6 months of qualifying graduate education and 6 months of specialized experience. (Applicants who choose this option must submit transcripts.) OR
D. Meet the requirements for superior academic achievement (S.A.A), which includes (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses. Grade-point average (G.P.A.)-- Applicants must have a grade-point average of: 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. 3. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society as outlined for SAA. (Applicants who choose this option must submit transcripts or proof of honor society.)
