Duties

Help
  • Serve as Manager of Installation Supply Support Activity (ISSA) responsible for supervising the daily operations of the organization.
  • Responsible for inventory and storage management e.g. installation management of class II, III, IV, VII and IX commodities); shelf life management, safety data sheets, equipment management; procurement and contracting activities.
  • Direct and coordinate procurement and contract activities for formal and small purchase and have final approval for same.
  • Prepare, coordinate or direct the accomplishment of special or specific division programs or projects as directed by the Division Chief.
  • Supervise all employee at the ISSA JBLM engaged in performing a variety of functions to provide supply and services support by the branch.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, control or evaluate work and provide guidance on difficult and unusual situations.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a two year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflict between duties and financial interest. This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter.
  • This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 months. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
  • Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

Qualifications

Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 13 months by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition.

Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years.

This is an obligated position. Occupancy of this position is limited to the return of a former incumbent with statutory reemployment rights under 10 U.S.C. 1586.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes which includes providing technical assistance on sustainment plans and operations, supply, maintenance, transportation, and operational contract support; assist with gathering information for primary hand receipt holder.

OR

I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Logistics Management, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
