Duties

Help
  • Serves as a leader, facilitator, organizer and advisor on enterprise business, data, application, technology and security architecture related activities.
  • Communicates, advocates, and influences the adoption of target information architecture and enterprise architecture to reduce enterprise complexity and maximize investments in relevant business and technology capabilities.
  • Maintains awareness of state-of-the-art developments in the Information Technology (IT) industry and the Federal sector.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies and identifies opportunities to improve enterprise-level systems to support business processes and utilize emerging technologies.
  • Analyzes external requirements from DoD and other relevant Federal agencies, including change in laws, regulations, policies and standards.
  • Guides the development and deployment of the OIG EA standards and documents using approved DoDAF artifacts.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies, policies and standards to support the development of innovative solutions and meet evolving business and security needs.
  • Leads enterprise IT asset management and configuration initiatives such as evaluating change requests for new or existing services against relevant plans, architectures and asset inventories.

  • Position has been designated as Top Secret w/SCI Security designation. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a top secret security clearance. Security designation is Special Sensitive.

  • Current DoD civilian employees are not required to submit to drug testing if moving from one Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another with no break in service, unless deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications

This notice is issued under the direct-hire authority. - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.

Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs.

Oral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience.

Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement, you must meet the specialized experience described below.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in Providing technical guidance on information technology, enterprise architecture, and IT process re-engineering issues; Translating business requirements into functional specifications; Performing analysis of organizations business capabilities; Executing integration of plans, programs and/or operations encompassing a wide range of information technologies systems/functional components.


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Qualification and time-in-grade requirements must be met at the closing date of this announcement.

Education

Education cannot be substituted for experience at the GS-13 grade level.
