Duties

Help
  • Incumbent operates a field-type tractor with attached and towed equipment; plans the order in which work is to be accomplished; transports materials and equipment; and digs, loads, plants, clears, mows and dispenses liquid and solid materials.
  • Performs minor maintenance on field-type tractors and attached and towed equipment.
  • Makes multiple connections between the tractor and attached or towed equipment; adjusts the equipment for job requirements such as setting the height of mower blades, depth of plow blades, and the rate of application of sprayer attachments.

  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
  • Subject to satisfactory condition of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Ability to work an irregular schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and split-shifts.
  • Applicant must be physically capable of lifting supplies and materials up to 100 pounds; frequent arm and leg movements to operate tractor controls, and exposure to pollen and chemical fumes, weather extremes, and possible cuts and bruises.
  • Pursuant to EO 14043, all Federal employees, regardless of duty location or work arrangement, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by November 22, 2021, or before entrance on duty if after November 22, subject to exceptions as required by law.

Qualifications

1. Applicant must have one year related experience in operating and performing minor maintenance on a field-type tractor and associated equipment.
2. Applicants must have and retain valid driver's license.
3. May be required to obtain a Government motor vehicle operator's permit.
