Duties include, but are not limited to:

Selects, writes, and approves program material for radio, TV and/or internet for appropriateness of content, balance, and targeted area interest.
Edits completed radio and TV scripts and/or material for Service Web site to ensure accuracy of tone, balance, and policy conformance.
Plans and directs the development of radio, TV and/or Internet programming and program packages in the Indonesian language by analyzing political, cultural and economic trends in order to meet US objectives and present a cohesive, listenable or watchable broadcast to the people of Indonesia.
Keeps staff and Chief informed on political, cultural and economic developments that may contribute to the quality of the airshows.
Prepares performance evaluation of Service staffers.
Maintains contacts with targeted area specialists, discussing issues and ideas pertinent to radio and TV program development and materials for Internet posting.

This vacancy is advertised under Delegated Examining (DE) procedures and is open to all U.S. citizens.
The full performance grade level for this position is GS-13.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GS-12 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector AND must be fluent (written/spoken/read) in Indonesian language

Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Ability to write highly targeted program materials and original feature materials for radio, TV, and/or Internet;
Experience in plans and development of radio and/or Internet programming in Indonesian language;
Managing activities of a professional staff supporting radio, TV, and/or Internet programming; and
Knowledge of Indonesia, its history, economics, culture, and socio- political development.

Education
