About the position:
This position will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts Center of the 6th Force Support Squadron Community Flight, MacDill AFB, FL.

Requires standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds. May occasionally handle items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Duties

Help

Issues, receives and schedules use of equipment, tools and repair stalls for patrons. Uses chit or other parts assignment system for accountability of assigned tools. Determines type of repair hob involved and suggests a variety of tools needed to accomplish the repair. Provides instructions to customers on cleaning processes, soiled rag disposal, sweeping and cleanup of repair or pit stall and removal of excess automotive parts. Ensures tools turned-in are clean, assesses breakage or damage if any; charging or pit stall and removal of excess automotive parts. Ensures tools turned-in are clean, assesses breakage or damage if any; charging customer for tools according to prescribed price listing. Operates cash register and accounts for cash using established procedures.

Maintains inventory control records of items issued, conducts minor maintenance and repair of tools and equipment. Accounts for condition, inspects tools upon return, bins, stores or replaces item with new. Arranges tools and parts as stock is replenished or added. Develops display pegboards, cleans and grinds tools requiring sharp edges.

Maintains a clean and orderly work area at all times. May be required to act as the primary or alternate equipment custodian.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of a wide variety of automotive tools and parts; good work shop practices to include setting up and maintaining a neat, well organized and secure storage area; inventory procedures and records maintenance. In addition, must have experience working with patrons providing quality customer service.
