  • Review and re-evaluates existing technical programs and capabilities supporting mission requirements.
  • Provide input into the development and execution of the organizations processing and exploitation programs.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Travel may be required approximately 10% of the time
  • This position is designated as emergency-essential (E-E). Please see additional Information.
  • Emergency Essential employees must be exempted from military mobilization or recall obligations by being placed in the Standby Reserve or other appropriate action. Please see additional information.
  • This position requires the employee to sign a mobility agreement under the provisions of the agency mobility program.
  • A medical examination and immunization screening are required.
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Please see additional information.
  • Position may require employee to wear uniform and/or protective clothing.
  • May be expected to live in field or austere conditions.
  • Shift work, irregular tours of duty, and/or extended duty will be required.

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience equivalent to the GG/GS-12 that prepared you to do this job. Specialize experience is defined and experience which includes experience with Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT); and/or experience with Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED). This definition of specialize experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the Federal service.

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.


You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
  • Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Discipline
  • Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED)

During a crisis situation, the incumbent, or designated alternate, may be required to deploy or to perform temporary duty assignments overseas in support of military operations. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively, therefore, the position is designated emergency-essential.
  • Emergency Essential employees must be exempted from military mobilization or recall obligations by being placed in the Standby Reserve or other appropriate action. Emergency Essential Civilians are required to sign a DoD Form 2365. (See DoDD 1200.7, DoDD 1404.10, DoDD 1400.31, DoDD 1400.32; and AR 690-11).
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 which makes it a felony for anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition. Civilian personnel of the Department of the Defense are not exempt from this provision. Therefore, as a condition of employment, selectee will be required to sign a form acknowledging understanding of this provision.
