This permanent, full-time position serves as Program Manager/Chief for Communication & Visitor Experience in the NPS Chesapeake Bay Office. The primary focus of this position is the oversight, direction, and management of all communications and outreach, interpretive and educational strategies, programming and materials, and youth programs. The incumbent performs diversified professional duties involved in a broad and, in many cases, highly technical variety of problems over a broad geographic area (six states and the District of Columbia). The work is complicated by requirements to comply with highly detailed standards established by Congress and other Federal agencies. The incumbent's work requires the consideration of many resources, complex inter-related ecological processes and visitor use considerations. The employee must be very skilled at setting priorities to ensure that critical issues receive adequate treatment. This involves weighing the relative merits of a wide range of planning and resource management projects, dealing with many complex issues, each having its own degree of urgency, significance and scope of influence.

May be subject to a one-year probationary period, including a one-year supervisory probationary period.

Qualifications
In order to be qualified for this position, you must possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service, developing new exhibits, curricula, or communications materials to support educational or interpretive programs; collaborating with external groups to improve program visibility or partner on joint projects; providing guidance to other staff on educational/interpretive techniques; and preparing a variety of digital communications (e.g. website posts, videos, social media content, etc.) on behalf of an organization.
You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive creditfor your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".

Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will be paid if the person selected for the position is from outside the local commuting area and is otherwise eligible for reimbursement of relocation expenses under the Federal Travel Regulations (such as current permanent Federal employees).
