The purpose of this position is coordinate all funding and purchasing issues necessary to support the delivery of industrial services for the Industrial Production Facility located at Base Boston.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.  Typical work assignments include: 

- Performing routine tasks to operate a financial management information system (CAS & Primavera 6) to produce and disseminate useful information related to resource utilization.
- Conducting cost studies and financial analyses to aid in the financial management of programs and continuous review and analysis of financial management operations.
- Preparing and reviewing various financial obligating documents for completeness and accuracy, processes procurement requirements, and certifies funds availability
- Assisting with the analysis and reconciliation of past and current year fiscal transactions to identify program strengths, trends, and deficiencies; making recommendations for future program modifications to correct deficiencies.

Qualifications

To Qualify at the GS-9:  Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the federal service.  Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples include: assembling necessary program and financial data and preparing detailed narrative reports and computerized tabular presentations; preparing analysis on the budgetary implications of policy changes and new initiatives, preparing budget documents for submission and providing full supporting data to senior management for justification of budget requests; analyzing alternative budgetary and corresponding program options, and the effects of changes in program emphasis; and developing budget presentation data and execution reports in a style and format which is compatible with current agency goals and objectives;

or master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be qualifying.

* Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
