Summary

Open to U.S. Citizens who are students currently enrolled full or part-time in an accredited college or university program, classified or academically ranked by semester hours as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate student.
The successful candidate will assist in Office of Investigations, Cyber Crimes Unit, in the support of field investigations throughout the nation.
Candidates will be evaluated on the skills that they possess that are directly related to the duties of the position and/or the experience, education and training that indicate the applicant's ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position. The USPS OIG uses a Pay Banding system, which is equivalent to the Federal GS scale. Grade and salary determinations will be made based upon a candidate's education and professional experience.
This position is being advertised at the Administrative Band level. The base salary range for this position is $14.62-$17.61/hour. Locality Pay is authorized.
Sophomore $14.62 per hour plus locality pay
Junior/Senior $15.54 per hour plus locality pay
Graduate or Law Student $17.61 per hour plus locality pay

Assist agents in evaluating evidence for administrative, civil and criminal hearings or trials
Must be able to pass a drug screening and medical assessment questionnaire.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Moderate background Investigation (MBI) clearance
Must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
Must be able to work in-person at the USPS-OIG Arlington, VA office location
May require some travel
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
You must meet ALL of the minimum requirements.
Students must be currently enrolled full or half-time in an accredited college or university program, classified or academically ranked by semester hours as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate student and graduating no sooner than May 2022. (Must Submit Transcripts Stating Current Enrollment Status, GPA and in Good Standing)
Must be in academic good standing as defined by the college or university, earning at least a 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale.
Must be currently enrolled in a Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Math, Cybersecurity, Network Security, Computer Forensics, or Information Technology undergraduate or graduate degree program.
Must be able to report to work in the USPS OIG (Arlington, VA) office for which you are selected during core business hours (9 am - 3 pm).
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Participation in the CyberCorps Scholarship for Service program
Experience participating in application of modern criminal investigative principles, planning, conducting, and/or assisting with criminal investigations, especially those involving digital forensics, digital evidence, and cyber-crime investigations
Digital forensics education, training, or certifications to include digital forensic tools, mobile devices forensics, memory forensics, packet capture/protocol analysis, vehicle system forensics applications, databases, networks and network security
Experience with multiple computer operating systems (e.g., Windows, MacOS, Linux, Unix), applications, databases, networks and network security
Knowledge of the mission of the USPS-OIG
Technical writing skill

Ability to define problems, conduct research, analyze alternatives, and recommend technical solutions to support investigations
Ability to communicate, both oral and in writing, including technical matters, that are understandable to other investigative personnel and management officials.
Ability to collaborate on projects as well as your ability to present your findings in a professional setting.
Ability to work in a team environment, and develop and maintain effective working relationships across OIG components and with stakeholders, other agencies and organizations
