We are looking for an experienced, exceptionally outgoing, and collaborative individual with strong oral and written communication skills to play a critical role in the organization's social media marketing and branding strategy and external communications efforts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our online efforts, promoting our mission, values, and vision to employees and external audiences, and creating marketing campaigns around those efforts. You will be recommending and carrying out new, creative ways to communicate the OIG's work to employees and stakeholders. You will be working across all levels of the organization, including with senior management, to ensure our messages and efforts are on point.
Our ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in developing social media marketing and external communication initiatives. They should have experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and using Google Analytics to track user engagement. This person must be a team player who is comfortable presenting to, representing, and working with diverse groups throughout the organization, including senior management. They should be highly organized and a self-starter who is able to translate ideas into deliverables. This individual will not only be responsible for engaging and communicating with our stakeholders but will also be a key resource in helping to identify and develop new and innovative ways to communicate.

The USPS OIG uses a Pay Banding system, which is equivalent to the Federal GS scale. Grade and salary determinations will be made based upon a candidate's education and professional experience.
This position is being advertised at the Journey Band level, equivalent to a GS-9 - GS-13. The salary range for this position is $60,129.00 - $134,798.00. The salary figures include locality pay. Promotion potential to a GS-13 is at management's discretion.

Participate in and execute the planning, development, coordination, writing, editing, design, and dissemination of both organizational and mass communications products to external and internal audiences via print, broadcast video, podcast, and digital media.
Develop and post approved content for internal and external communications channels including the OIG blog, official social media sites, public website, intranet sites, and email updates.
Ensure content on the communications channels is current and relevant.
Responsible for writing, reporting, and editing content for general information and events.
Responsible for capturing still photographs and video footage to be used in OIG products.
Must be able to pass a drug screening and medical assessment questionnaire.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Moderate Background Investigation
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government-issued credit card
May be required to successfully complete a 12-month probationary period
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
You must meet ALL of the minimum qualifications listed below.
Must have at least six years of professional experience in corporate marketing or corporate communications, with an emphasis on external communications and social media
AND
Must have experience in supporting marketing or communications activities within an organization of 200 or more employees
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or master's degree in communications or marketing
Experience working with a geographically diverse workforce
Proficiency with Office 365, including SharePoint and TEAMS
Proficiency in using Google analytics
EVALUATION FACTORS
You must have the experience, knowledge and skills as listed in EACH of the evaluation factors. Failure to demonstrate that you meet all of the evaluation factor requirements as listed below will result in a score of zero (0); an ineligible status, and you will not be referred for further consideration.
