As an Assistant Inspector General for Audits, Inspections, and Evaluations (AIG), ES-0511-00, you will be responsible for managing, supervising, coordinating, and conducting audits, inspections, and evaluations.
DUTIES:
Provide direction, advice, and executive guidance to headquarters and regional staff who carry out the audit and evaluative activities in their offices;
Establish audits, inspections, and evaluations priorities through strategic planning;
Direct the development of the proposed annual work plan and ensure timely completion of mandatory and discretionary efforts;
Establish audits, inspections, and evaluations organizational goals and develop long and short-range plans to attain these goals;
Review and comment on all audits, inspections, and evaluations reports and related correspondence and provide direction and guidance to teams conducting such work;
Manage the audits, inspections, and evaluations internal quality assurance system, including periodic quality control reviews, to provide reasonable assurance that applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, standards, and other requirements are followed;
Participate in appropriate follow-up to completed reports;
Foster and promote effective communication; and,
Engage with key officials from within and/or outside the agency to gain understanding and support for OIG projects, initiatives, and general oversight activities.

BASIC EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
As a basic requirement for entry into the SES, applicants must provide evidence of progressively
responsible executive leadership and supervisory experience that is indicative of senior executive level
management capability and directly related to the skills and abilities outlined under Executive Core
Qualifications and Technical Qualifications listed below. The ideal candidate will have experience
supervising employees through subordinate supervisors and have experience hiring, developing, and
evaluating employees.
Typically, the experience of this nature will have been gained at or above the GS-14/15 grade level in the
