This position is located in the Programs and Partnerships Division, Office of Accessibility, National Endowment for the Arts. In this position, you will:
-Serve as Accessibility Specialist in the arts and accessibility field;
-Assist with advocacy and technical assistance efforts for making the arts available to individuals with disabilities, older adults, and people living in institutions, including correctional institutions, hospitals, long-term care, and rehabilitation facilities.
-Assist in developing and implementing a wide variety of projects with grantees, State and Regional Arts Agencies, other Federal agencies, and organizations that represent older Americans, people with disabilities, and institutionalized individuals.
-Develop a wide variety of resource material to educate and assist the field concerning arts accessibility, including online materials, print materials, and trainings.
-Research and stay up to date with electronic accessibility standards and requirements to help comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
-Manage communication, tracking, and technical assistance efforts with State Arts Agencies and Regional Arts Organization Accessibility Coordinators concerning awareness of accessibility requirements for their agencies and their constituents.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet one of the following requirements:
GS-11:
A. Have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service with experience in the following: working in the arts and accessibility field; assisting with advocacy and technical assistance efforts for making the arts available to individuals with disabilities, older adults, and/or people living in institutions; researching and staying up to date with electronic accessibility standards and requirements to help comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act; and providing technical assistance for arts grantees and other constituents. OR
B. Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.; or successfully completed a Ph.D.; or equivalent degree, e.g., LL.M., at an accredited college or university in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. (NOTE: You must submit a copy of your college transcripts to support your claim). OR
C. Have a combination of graduate education and specialized experience, as described above, which when combined, total 100 percent of the requirement.
GS-12:
You must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service with experience in the following: providing guidance in the arts and accessibility field; leading advocacy and technical assistance efforts for making the arts available to individuals with disabilities, older adults, and/or people living in institutions; researching and staying up to date with electronic accessibility standards and requirements to help comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act; and serving as primary contact for technical assistance for arts grantees and other constituents.
