Detailee job responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting party and third-party discovery.
  • Deposing party and third-party witnesses.
  • Working with experts.
  • Drafting discovery-related court filings.
  • Preparing orders of proof, outlines, and related work product

You must be currently employed by the Department of Justice.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:

  • Civil litigation experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in teams.
  • Strong legal writing, editing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience arguing motions or participating in trials is preferred.
  • Experience in antitrust law or litigation involving digital technologies is valuable but not required.

Education

You must possess a J.D. or equivalent degree to qualify for consideration as a Trial Attorney for the Department of Justice, Antitrust Division.

Additional information

Attorneys selected for this detail will maintain their current grade and salaries. This position has no promotion potential.
