Duties

Help
  • You will receive, unload and process incoming shipments manually or through an automated system.
  • You will conduct inventory location surveys and appropriate causative research for any discrepancies.
  • You will pack and repack a variety of items for shipment utilizing a wide variety of standard packing materials, methods and techniques.
  • You will manage shelf-life material and determine appropriate actions based on shelf life code.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks as demonstrated by receiving, handling, segregating, storing, stowing, inventorying, and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment, or materials in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage and compliance with technical requirements; documenting discrepancies, damage, and technical non-compliance; reading and preparing shipping documents and labels; using computer applications and automated equipment to document the movement of material; determining proper handling and storage procedures; utilizing available storage space for means of achieving maximum space utilization, material flow, and proper layout; operating motor vehicles, forklifts, and material handling equipment; packing, cushioning, banding, and wrapping materials in accordance with prescribed standards as demonstrated through experience. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
