Duties

Help

  • Provide expert direction to aid in the management of the OIG's worldwide audit and investigation activities.
  • Keep the OIG informed of strategic legislative and communication initiatives involving DFC, branding, media relationships and community relations.
  • Provide oversight and leadership of the legislative affairs program.
  • Coordinate and manage the responsiveness of IG organizational elements to legislative inquiries and mandates in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and track congressional correspondence/reports required by legislation or congressional committees to ensure timely delivery.
  • Prepare materials for Congress, including testimony, briefings, and reports.
  • Serve as principal IG liaison to Members of Congress, their staffs, and staffs of relevant Committees to promote the IG strategic plan, accomplishments, activities and agendas.
  • Establish and update communications standards and guidelines for IG internal and external communication.
  • Provide information to stakeholders on IG accomplishments of interest to historical and preservation organizations, community engagement groups, and archivists.
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory developments, and rule-making impacting DFC decisions.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

One (1) year of specialized experience that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-14 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is in or directly related to the line of work of this position and has equipped you with the knowledge and competencies to successfully perform the duties of this position.

More specifically, this requirement involves demonstrated skill or experience in ALL of the following:
1) Leading a legislative affairs program, to include serving as a liaison with Congressional offices and committees;
2) Monitoring legislative and congressional actions, and monitoring and controlling Congressional correspondence (preferably with OIG experience); AND
3) Overseeing and directing the production/publication/distribution of a wide variety of informational material such as audit and investigation reports, correspondence and testimony, training materials, newsletters or brochures, delivered in a variety of media including websites and social media.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
