Duties

Help

The primary purpose of this position is to lead three or more journeyman Aircraft Mechanics, WG-8852-10, crew chiefs, and specialist personnel. In addition, performs journeyman duties involving the inspection, repair, modification, and servicing of aircraft systems, components, and assemblies for both on- and off-aircraft.

(1) On a regular and recurring basis, leads three or more aircraft mechanics, crew chiefs, and specialist personnel performing work in the inspection docks.
(2) Monitors the work of assigned personnel, sets the pace, passes along assignments, and assures that materials, tools, equipment, and stock are available.
(3) Insures that assigned personnel are fully utilized and work is accomplished in accordance with established time frames and priorities.
(4) Advises the supervisor of overall work operations, status and progress of work, causes for delays, problems encountered, and individual performance (e.g., additional on-the-job training requirements for individual employees).
(5) Ensures that safety, housekeeping, security and other environmental rules are followed.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Must currently be permanent or indefinite technician in the WY ANG.
Must be employed within 153rd Air Wing, Maintenance Squadron to be considered.
Must submit vMPF Rip, SF-50, and previous 3 performance appraisals with application.
Must possess at least the minimum ASVAB score listed for Qualification

Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain a T3/SECRET security clearance.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
The Selected applicant must complete an "I-9, Employment Verification", "OF-306, Declaration of Federal Employment", and a "Declaration of Relatives in the Wyoming Military Department" prior to the appointment date.
Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses.
Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these military incentives.
Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive
Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS).
Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a
Technician.
Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f).

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Work involves the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, and modification of fixed and rotary wing aircraft systems, airframes, components and assemblies, where the work requires substantive knowledge of the airframe and aircraft mechanical, pneudraulic, and/or electrical systems and their interrelationships. Some work situations within this series may require varying levels of electronics knowledge.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess experience or training that has provided the candidate with sufficient knowledge to complete the work of this occupational series. Experience or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to lead other technicians engaged in the duties performed by this occupational series.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must possess at least 24 months experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. The ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series.

NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g. 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume.


MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.

COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS:
Enlisted: 2A5X1

Must possess AFSC 2A5X1, AIRLIFT/SPECIAL MISSION AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE.

Enlisted 2A5X1, ASVAB Requirements:
Must possess a minimum score of "47" on the Mechanical portion of the ASVAB.
Medical Profile PULHES must not be greater than 333132.
Must be able to lift 80 lbs. unassisted.

DRIVER'S LICENSE:
Must possess a valid state's driver's license.
