Duties

Help
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare data for interpretation and use throughout the organization.
  • Ensure correspondence, reports, travel orders, etc., are processed correctly and expeditiously.
  • Develop and prepare reporting formats, i.e., pie charts, bar charts, and similar items from data for presentation.
  • Coordinate conferences and meetings by arranging space, time, equipment, and supplies; assemble background and conference materials.
  • Ensure monitoring of agenda and recordkeeping of minutes, establish a system to record commitments made during meetings, and ensure appropriate courtesies are afforded to visitors and other high level officials.

  • This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • This position has been designated ?Mission Essential?. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Basic Qualifications for Office Support Assistant (Office Automation):

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes preparing a variety of personnel or resource requests; maintaining personnel records; preparing a variety of correspondence utilizing automated systems; and resolving patients' concerns. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time In Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
